Atlantic played in the First State Base Ball Festival this week at Fort Dupont State Park in Delaware City, Delaware. Atlantic drew the Talbot Fair Plays for its first opponent. Atlantic played brilliant defense and led 8-0 after 7 innings, but Talbot scored 5 times in their 8th inning to make the game close, with Atlantic holding on for the 8-5 victory. TC (double, 2 aces) and Flash (double, triple) were the only Atlantics with 2 hits. Hammy picked up his 5th victory of the season.
In the second game, Atlantic played the first-year team Philadelphia Athletics. Athletic scored first with a run in the bottom of the first inning, but that would be all they would score as Atlantic coasted to a 29-1 victory. Dreambucket went 6 for 6 and Flash went 5 for 5 with 3 doubles. Shakespeare and Toothpick added 4 hits apiece. Pigtail picked up the win for Atlantic.
