Dean "Dreambucket" Emma

When A-Rod contacted the Atlantics about playing for them, we told him we'd be glad to have him play for the Atlantics, but he would have to change his position because we already had a phenom shortstop in Dean "Dreambucket" Emma. A-Rod declined because he wasn't willing to switch. Atlantic certainly made the right decision, the way "Dreambucket" saves runs with his quickness and good hands in the field, and the way he sparks the offense with his .600-plus batting average (take a seat and watch, A-Rod!). He is also the team's 'iron-man,' having played in nearly 200 consecutive games.

Dean first played vintage base ball with the Suffolks in a faculty game against Atlantic. After seeing him play, the Atlantics invited him to join them. He first played third base and centerfield, but quickly took over as the regular shortstop. His nickname underwent several changes before settling on "Dreambucket". Dean played high school ball and is now a physical education teacher. When he's not on the field playing, he is umpiring base ball games for boys aged 10 thru 18. Luckily he knows where our home games are, but he has no idea where our away games have been played since he has slept his way through all our travel. "Dreambucket" has had numerous important hits for Atlantic, including a game-winning walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th inning at Providence.
