Nick "The Butcher" Baruso
Nick "The Butcher" Baruso started playing with the Atlantics on opening day 2007. He spent the first 18 years of his life living down the street from "Toothpick," and they are now neighbors in the outfield as well. After mastering the strange Native American game of "lacrosse," he took up base ball, and has since become one of the better rightfielders in the vintage game. His unorthodox style of play makes him a natural fit for the moniker "Butcher," although rarely is a fly ball hit towards rightfield that does not result in a hand down. He also provides the Atlantics with a strong left-handed bat, as he has been known to deliver long drives into the trees at Atlantic Park. To help maintain his impressive strength, he works as a lumberjack in the offseason. |
